The Animal Shelter Society, Inc. invites you to bring your pets to our 1st Annual Paws & Prayers event at North Terrace Church of Christ. Pets were created to be our constant companions, and continually give us love, joy and emotional support. We will celebrate the love our pets give us and Lead Minister from North Terrace Church of Christ, Chris Steele, will pray a blessing over our pets.

The event will be held in a large outdoor space. All types of pets are welcome, but we ask that any pet you bring be up to date on vaccinations. Please make sure that your pet is on a leash or in a carrier for their safety and the safety of others. If you have any questions you may contact our General Manager at (740) 452-1077 ext. 107.

Keeping your pet healthy and up-to-date on routine vaccinations and treatments is important! Our Wellness Clinic offers vaccinations, flea and tick prevention, heart worm prevention and microchipping. Drop off and pick up times on clinic day vary; call us at (740) 452-1077 to schedule your pet’s appointment.

Dress up your pet in their favorite Halloween costume and drive-thru the Shelter parking lot for a treat! We’ll have treats for dogs and cats -and yes, some candy for the humans! If your pet can show us a ”trick” for their treat, even better!

Join us for our second annual Barktoberfest! Last year’s event was virtual, but we look forward to seeing you in person this year! We will enjoy an evening of delicious food, drinks, unique auction items and the opportunity to support the homeless animals of our community.

Local celebrities and Shelter supporters will spend “A Day in the Dog House” and raise money for the Shelter to earn their freedom! Participants will be locked in a dog kennel and will need you to bail them out!

Don't want to attend the event in person? Our participants will also have Facebook fundraisers set up so that you can donate towards their "Adoption Fee" from the comforts of home!

The event will be held safely outdoors and will include Road Dawg Concessions, Kona Ice, Trendies, Wag Swag and more!

The Animal Shelter Society, Inc. is preparing for our annual fundraiser, Yappy Hour, slated for Thursday May 6, 2021 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Zanesville Country Club. The Animal Shelter Society, Inc. is an Adoptable No-kill shelter and exists to promote and protect the health, safety and welfare of homeless animals in Muskingum County through the dedicated efforts of our staff and board of directors.

Our Yappy Hour event will consist of showcased chefs and a live auction with many wonderful items available for bid.

Space will be limited for this event. Tickets are $50 and may be purchased by contacting our General Manager at (740) 452-1077 ext. 107.

As a 501(c)3 Non- Profit, we depend solely on the support and donations from our community, so we can provide care for our furry friends. The staff and board of directors would truly appreciate your consideration to either sponsor or donate a package to be auctioned off in our live auction the night of the event. By sponsoring or donating an auction item, the business/individual will receive recognition on The Animal Shelter Society, Inc. Facebook Page, website, WHIZ TV during Pet of the Week and WHIZ Radio each week.

This is a safe way to donate! Simply drive thru our parking lot and Team Members will unload items from your vehicle - you won't even need to get out!

Special appearance by Santa Claus is planned!
